Owen was born in the final days of the old Ontario Renaissance Festival when it closed in 2004. Growing up in the remains of that community gave Owen a strong imagination, and a knack for building things by hand quickly grew from there.
Owen has been using 3D printers to make props and models since he was twelve and his skill with them has branched out to other digital fabrication tools. Owen has experience with FDM and SLA 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, vinyl printers and cutters, and the modelling programs associated with all.
Owen was educated in the Technical Theatre Production program, and is currently doing off-and-on permit work for IATSE local 828.
