I pounced on the project. I had no idea what I was doing, but I had a vision, and ambition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I started small, with a little cardboard tube and a couple small elastics. However, after scaling up, I kind of lost the plot. spent a week experimenting with pulleys and springs, barking up entirely the wrong tree, before a classmate suggested bungee cords. Why I didn&#8217;t start there, I don&#8217;t know. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/owensworkbench.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/20241119_1347241-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-181\" srcset=\"https:\/\/owensworkbench.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/20241119_1347241-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/owensworkbench.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/20241119_1347241-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/owensworkbench.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/20241119_1347241-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/owensworkbench.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/20241119_1347241-768x768.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was a race against the clock, I had to build a backup design that just used a paddle on a handle to burble chickens up, but I eventually got the cannon working.
